Consultation rooms are a vital part of the modern pharmacy and are strongly advised when considering a redesign. Being able to hold confidential discussion with patients in a private room will improve customer relationship helping to build your client base.

The rooms are normally small with a desk and chairs, hand wash facilities and disposal of waste facilities. The design should allow for wheel chair access and security of staff should be considered.

Safety - careful thought to choice of furniture and fittings as the room may be used for patients who suffer from mental illness or have a violent disposition. Also consider panic buttons and CCTV.
Privacy - The internal arrangement of the room should ensure visual intrusion is limited. Adequate acoustic partition should be used to ensure conversionation are not over heard.
