STOCK DELIVERY

A lot of pharmacies take delivery of new medicines within the working dispensary area which can cause handling error such as being mixed in with current stock before being checked off. Also your working dispensary process flow can be interrupted causing delays to patients.

Separate Goods Inwards/Storage Area

It is highly recommended to include a storage area for delivery of new stock, providing a bench and/or trolley where tote boxes can be placed out of the way whilst medicines are being checked in. Lockable doors on cupboards are recommended to safely store any medicines before they are processed.

Improve Health & Safety

Working at correct heights reduces injuries; good design includes products to help move and store goods. Bench worktop heights can be produced to suit large or small staff builds. Try to avoid leaving hazardous boxes or product on floors.
